Why are the doubles so easy to come by second hand but not the single ones? Anyone know?!

Probably because a double is temporary need for families and a single goes from one child to another?

Mum finds two children too much of a handful. Thinks, "cluck this for a game of soldiers, I'll sell the double, go back to work and hire a CM instead." :D
