I was extremely nervous this morning with my first inspection looming at 0930hrs. The Ofsted inspector was really lovely and put me at ease quite quickly.

After 1.5hrs I'm well chuffed to let you all know that I got graded with Outstanding. I'm still in shock by my result.

If anyone can advise how to put my grade under my username like many of you have I would appreciate it.

Thank you all very much for your very kind words. They mean a lot.

The inspection could not have come at a worse time for me with my son having his ear operation on Monday and having been very anxious about that and then getting the phone call yesterday to say she wanted to come today to inspect almost done me in - especially with hubby away too.

Yes, I am very relieved it is all over and am still in shock I think but obviously very chuffed.

As for the SEF, I completed a very basic one I found last year that rated myself from inadequate to Outstanding on the five categories. My inspector was very happy with that as she was not inspecting me on EYFS.

As for tips, when my head clears I'll try and think straight and type what happened this morning for you all.

I certainly don't feel like an expert on inspections but will help anyone where I can.

Oh Wiggly - I didn't realise you'd had so little notice - that happened to me too - rang one day and came the next.

I was in a right tizz (and I had to cancel lunch with Mandy ajs) but it was OK in the end.

Shame hubby's not around to help you celebrate;)
