Compromise is often counterproductive.
This is a great letter and it has been widely circulated on Twitter...worth a read!

Its a good letter that upholds the thoughts of many of us. I cant imagine how the mindees I have will be seen when they go into reception next year. I consider them doing very well if they recognise their name, know some of their colours and counter/recognise numbers up to 10. In fact I have a yr1 child here who still doesnt use tenses correctly when they speak. I'm wondering what parents think of these assessments
