Hello,

Not sure if i've posted in the right place but i have Ofsted coming next week. I have my 17 year old sister staying with me because she didn't want to go on holiday with the folks. I only look after a 1 year old baby (ive just come off maternity leave myself) but i was thinking of perhaps writing a letter to parents to tell them. She works so she wont be around at all during the day. She has got a DBS because she works at the hospital on a placement with college.I guess its just for legal purposes.
Any advice as to what you would do?

Is she just a temporary guest? Just for a week or two?
If so, then all you have to do is make sure she never is alone with a mindee.
Nothing else is needed. That is my understanding anyway- re-read EYFS to confirm and so that you can expalin to the inspector should it come up (but it might not come up anyway, no need for it to).

Thankyou for your reply.
Yes she is just staying for a week and in the day she will be at work from 9- 5pm. Mindee comes at 7am so i guess there will be 2 hours together but she will be in bed until as late possible.

That's fine then. I often have visitors while working, it is no problem.
