Hi could people please tell me what i need to be a child minder. I have a 3 yr old and am qualified to level 3 was deputy manager of a nursery till i had my daughter and i have lots of friends who want me to have there children what is the ratios etc thanks in advance for any help given :)

you need to take an introduction to childminding course - regardless of any qualifications you currently have.

You should speak to your LA about what courses they have available :D

You can look after 6 children. 3 in early years and in those 3 no more the one under one year old.

Hi, I'm in the process of applying too. I've had to do a paediatric 1st aid course and will be doing the introduction to childminding course soon. I would say apply for your dbs as soon as possible as this can take a while and without it you can't send off your application to ofsted. I'm a family support worker but have still needed to apply for a new DBS, which I'm still waiting for.
