Can I use just a booster seat for a nearly 4 year old for very short journeys that won't be regular? I find the laws a bit unclear!

The law on car seats has just changed...it was on the news the other day and , apparently, most parents are really not sure about the rules.
I would google ROSPA and look at their checklist for car seats...or just google 'children's car seats' and lots of info will come up.

This is the law:
https://www.gov.uk/child-car-seats-the-rules
It is based on weight, not age:
Child’s weight Car seat
9kg to 18kg Rear or forward-facing baby seat
15kg to 25kg Rear or forward-facing child seat (booster seat)
Over 22kg Booster cushion
Or follow manufacturer's instructions

If they weigh over 15kg then yes, but the advice is to wait until they are nearer 18kg:thumbsup:
