Hi, just a bit confused.. Heard today from another cm, that from September 2015, we will no longer be required to do the two year development check. Was wondering if anyone else had heard about this! Thanks

There is a change from Sept 2015 but it does not mean we don't do the checks! 2yr checks are part of the statutory EYFS so until that is revised it is a requirement for us. If the EYFS is re-written no one knows what will be in it... so this kind of speculation/rumour is not helpful.
From Sept 2015 LA are being encouraged (but it is not compulsory) for 2yr checks to be done in a 'working-together' process between health visitors and childcare setting. Each LA has to work out if/how they will achieve this.
I have not heard any details locally.
