I'm newly registered and looking to move house. What is the process with Ofsted?

Inform them in writing.
They may want to see the new property.
They may use your move as a reason to do your next due inspection early.
They may do nothing.

If you have only registered recently I would think it was unlikely as they are not doing first graded inspections until 30mths now. They are too short-staffed and are prioritising catching up with over-due CMers with low grades.

You could send them a full RA of the new property to show you have done all your homework on it and that might help them decide not to come out to see you!

Someone has said about having registration suspended until a visit, anyone held of this?

I was going to send RA's, pictures of the rooms I'll be using and fire plan. Surely this is what they check anyway?!

I moved house 8 months ago. I informed Ofsted and they sent out my new certificate. A friend of mine who also moved recently was told she couldn't work until she received her new certificate. I was told I could and actually received my new certificate on the first day anyway.
Ofsted told me to risk assess and at my next inspection, everything would be checked. I wondered if the move would trigger an inspection but haven't heard anything yet and my last inspection was 2010.

Don't forget, if you move to a new local authority, they may say that you need to attend their childminder training. I think this is what my borough does!
