I have just had ofsted phone for my inspection. I told them that i only work term time and so have no mindees here. They said they would still come and i would only get a satisfactory. I complained at this and said that firstly i was on holiday and i feel like i deserve more than a satisfactory and could they not inspect me early sept when the kids are back at school? (also i have taken all stairgates, posters etc down as it's nice to have our home back for the hols):(
Do you think there is any point in me fighting this? It's just everyone in our area looks up the inspection ratings.:(

Yes I think it's worth fighting!
They probably want to get you 'done' before eyfs kicks in, but if you're not minding it's not fair.
You need to emphasise the fact that you want to be graded on what you actually do...
Good luck! If you want someone to proof read your letter, I'll be happy to help, just pm me :D

I don't think it's fair at all but I know that Ofsted still do inspections even if you have no children present.
If you feel strongly enough then I think you should say so and request they come after September when you have mindees but bear in mind you would then be one of the first to be inspected under EYFS so you would have to make sure you had everything spot on for that.
If you would rather have your inspection before EYFS comes in could you borrow a mindee for the day?
Good luck whatever you decide to do

Because i don't have any under 5's the inspector said that she wouldn't be inspecting me for the EYFS. which is another reason why i don't see why it can't wait. However after speaking to the inspector twice about, i don't want to annoy her to much as she is the one inspecting me!
I feel like i can't win.

My inspector rang the other day and she said she has GOT to get me done before 22nd Aug as that's my one year anniversary of being registered. Luckily I've got my mindee starting again on 18th so she's coming then.
Could it be it be that with you? Is your one year anniversary coming up or anything?

if you do have to be registered i would consider borrowing a child as you would at least get more than satisfactory i think

I started minding 3rd September 2007 and received my call on Monday so have my inspection on 6th August (just before my 1 year anniversary).
Good luck.
