Hi there.

I have just registered and starting out in august. I have my 3 under 5's (one of my own) but I have been asked by a neighbour to collect her 3year old from the nursery attached to the primary school down the road. Now the stat regs say if children are 4 and go to full time nursery they are seen as being out of the 0-5 numbers. This child is 3, do I have to say no?

Also, am I right in thinking if in the future I have a second child, I can have have 4 under 5's (only working 3 days) as my registered children are seen as being existing children.

Any help, much appreciated xx

No to the first bit. It has to be full time school, ie 10 sessions a week, morning and afternoon. Nursery does not count. A four year old at full time school is referred to as a 'rising 5' and may be in your 5-8 ratio.

If you have three children and then have your own child you can increase ratios to four but if any mindees left, taking you back to three, you couldn't then replace them

Ok that has definitely firmed up my thoughts on this. Thanks
