Iam filling out my childminding form to be sent away and have come a cross what to write for infection control what does everyone else do for this ? I know it's when changing nappies and stuff thanks x

If it is for nappies then write down what steps you would take when changing a nappy to ensure that no-one including you becomes ill - eg: wash hands before you change nappy, ensure nappy changing mat is sprayed or wiped with anti bac after every nappy change, wear disposable gloves, dispose of nappy safely in a nappy sack in a bin designated for nappies or outside bin (never the kitchen bin), wash your hands thoroughly after disposing of nappy with anti bac soap and/or gel. Not advisable to wash your hands in the kitchen sink but if you don't have a downstairs toilet you may not have a choice. Some Ofsted inspectors are asking that the child who had nappy changed goes and washes hands too!

I am only going on your suggestion that it was about nappy changing - it may be about following exclusion guidelines from Health Authority on illnesses and having a sick child policy. I registered many years ago and didn't have to fill in a form with that question on, hope someone who has registered recently can advice you. :thumbsup:

I do not know the wording of the question by infection control also covers keeping children's hand towels separate (or use disposable paper towels), how you stop children sharing cups etc, cleaning toys/equipment, excluding children for illnesses, closing for your own/family illnesses, food hygiene, separate bedding, separate face cloths etc
