Hello all havent been about or a while been very busy and my computer had to be fixed felt lost without it realised how addicted i was to it when it was taken away bad isnt it lol. anyway so ofsted called omg omg !!!! they are coming 6th august she said she couldnt give me a time as well coz normally they dont like to give you a set date but she was saying how they are basically behind with it all. so she is coming 6th august and i have a new baby that isnt settling great which i explained on phone that is apparently why she has given me a few weeks to give her more chance to settle. i am so worried coz i bin working with slightly older ones recently and havent really come up with any activities for the baby as to be honest we have just been getting used to one another and if i put her down she just cries i can see it being a nightmare any advice please hope you are all well xxx

Ofsted came here to do an inspection on my partner who minds with me and the baby I was looking after screamed and screamed through the entire inspection ... for 3 hours he just screamed, full pelt.
We all got on and did what we needed to do, sometimes I put him in his travel cot with some toys and he screamed in there, other times I carried him and he screamed, other times I put him in his high chair for tea and he screamed between mouthfulls.
I thought it had scuppered his chances... but he got goods and she said she was impressed by the way we'd all dealt with what was obviously a stressful time! There were 5 other mindees plus our own 3 here at the time and we just got on with it!
You'll be fine... they're only human and they appreciate your job is not easy.
Good luck :D

It will be fine. If you are worried about what to give baby to play with a treasure basket would be a good think to try but if your older ones are anything like mine they will start playing with it.

I have the same problem! If I get anything out for the 10mth old, my 3 year old goes over and decides he has to play with it and nothing else will do! It's a nightmare! It's impossible to get the baby to play with the treasure basket on her own and make obs!!! Roll on Sept when my son starts pre-school! Ha ha!
Almost forgot to say good luck! Just think though that you are lucky in some ways as the inspector can't ask the baby any questions and be told a load of embarrassing rubbish! Ha ha!

Yeah thanks guys im sure it will go ok but just cant help but worry!!! treasure basket is a good one to do on the day ta but your right my own son who is 21 months will insist it's his he's going through the it's mine stage lol he's driving me mad lol
any other ideas on activities to do with 1 year old and 21 month old possibly together??? think inspector would like it if i incorporate the two ages for activities etc: my little boy loves the dressing up stuff but isnt really a set activity they just get on and do it themselves do u think this is ok r should i do a structured activity too just so she can see i am capable etc:

I have a 15mth gap between my youngest two children and some of the activities I did together was
* ELC Happyland
* water play
* sand play
* Bubbles
* pretend play - food/teddies tea party
* music session with tumble tots tape
I'm only just registered for the course so not sure if these are the sorts of things you are looking for
