Hi,
I'm looking for some ways to scent my play dough, I have heard others talk about chocolate dough and have tried adding lemon essence to some dough I made recently, but the scent was really poor. Does anyone have any ideas on scents that work really well and also the quantity of product I put in the mix.
I really need this by Saturday so I have my fingers crossed someone can help!
Many thanks
Tracy :D

Hand lotion is nice, lavender or orange oil but you need quite a lot.
I put glitter in the other day and it was lovely but not smelly sorry! :D

I'm sure someone once suggested using baby oil instead of cooking oil when making playdough to give it a nice smell and I think they said it made it shiney I haven't tried it yet (keep meaning to) maybe someone else will remember this.

I use a few drops of essential oil.
Citonella works best or mandarin, both are ok in small quantities for small kids
Rosemary is a good smell, but I used dried as essential oil it too strong with lo's can cause all sorts of probs :panic: .
Pm me if you have a fave smelling oil and I will check out if it's ok with the lo's :)

If you mean the rosemary monkey??
Yes use dried. I also put some in the box I keep it in to really make it whiff :D
But then I love the smell.
Oil has lots of contra indications for lo's.

Or if you use too much it has the opposite effect and sends them hyper!!!!
Bet you didn't know that :D
Lavender is one oil where less is more.
Yes Lavender works well, if you use the cooking method, add to the playdough as it is cooler, smell lasts longer. I use 5 drops of pure oil and thats strong enough.
Ps no lavender for all you mums to be in the first trimester

This may be a silly question, but here goes!
Can these scents be added to other things? I was thinking of cornflower gloop?
