Was that your first inspection? Well done! I had my first one a couple of months ago, I got a good which I was mega happy with, although did want an outstanding, inspector told me I couldn't get one because to be outstanding you need to show continual professional development...not sure if this is just an Ofsted inconsistency or actually true!

No not my first. I was registered december 2012. First inspection june 2013 but due to something as many kno on here was down graded to inadequate. Gutted isnt a powerful enough word to use but you can imagine my dispear. So outstanding is an amazing outcome today and i beleive a true reflection on my provision and knowledge as i have held a level 3 since 2005 and worked in nurseries. Inspecter was confident that i knew my stuff and ways to.overcome previous thing that down graded me.
Have had a bunch of flowers sooooo big off the blokey man in my life today and now he is takin me.out for.food :)
Thx all...without the support of this forum i would of gave up. Glad i didnt and.proud to say where i am.today....just wait on report in my hand now!

Did you request a re-inspection or did they come back after only 4 months? - I thought they visited again after 6 months if awarded inadequate. A HUGE well done for turning that grading completely around. :clapping:

Ok im back on planet earth. Just about!
My DO let me kno today that the inspecter i had is a tough cookie and never usualy gives outstanding so must of wowed her :) made me feel fab!
Ok here we go in a nutshell.
She made it clear from the start "i will be observing your teaching practise" thought ok whatever but im not a qualified teacher love!
What did i do?
*ensured all saftey items where there as i do everyday
*ensured nappy area ready as always
*travel cot clean sheets and blankets were ready as always
*garden set up ready as usual (turtle tray with activity in. Sand opened and activity in. Water ready with bubbles and activity and clean towels and art easel ready)
That was it we carried on our usual day. Which is our individual plans set up first part of the morning which children were new so was just couple of usual activities and free play so.mix of adult led and child led. Then washed hands as its a childs next step anyway. Fruit for snack on snack mat. Coats on garden play. Back indoors nappy changes some.have milk time about now and sleeps. Messy play kiddies helped with makong playdough but werent interested the one child was their first day and was exploring.
So inspecter asked questions on. Identifying safeguarding incidents. What we would do. Asked about how we help and develop each area. She looked at my staff file and my professional development sheet and my assistants file and sheet. Sampled some learning journeys. Looked at my planning folder that has planning newsletters and my own monthly action plans. She looked at most of policies then had a tour of premises. She looked at parents feedback and she talked through my sef
She was very thorough!
But....it went well :)
Hope that helps :)
Any questions fire away x
