And I am outstanding! I'm very happy, I was worried reading about other peoples experiences. I even completed my SEF and I've always refused to before.
I'm glad its over now though. :)

Fantastic news - well done you, please share some feedback on how you do things and what Mrs O was looking for - I am 4 1/2 years since last inspection as are several other minders in my town and another one has gone 5 years like you. Did you submit your SEF before Ofsted rang to say she was coming as I remember last time I submitted one, I had a phone call a couple of weeks later - so wonder if submitting a SEF makes you "more" visible, in which case I'm going to bury mine in the garden right now!
Think all forum members should raise a glass to you and say "Cheers" - oh hang on my glass is already empty, where did that go?

I didn't submit my SEF online. I did it on paper. I'm not very I.T literate and it would have taken ages! I gave it to her when she arrived, she said that was fine when we chatted on the phone ( I photocopied it as she said she'd like a copy to take away) I did buy Sarah Nevilles E-book too-it made it soo much easier! Thank you Sarah, I will be forever grateful that you chose to make an e-book!
It's very hard to explain what I did-the same as I always do! I'm a very calm person, which is handy when you have 3 x 2yr old boys all day. I speak quietly to the children, don't raise my voice and always help them to understand their feelings as they learn to share/care and play together. She was very keen to see how well we communicated and that I provided many oportunities for communication. She was impressed with the way I interacted with the boys, their lovely emerging and present manners, she liked the fact that they all put their own plates and cups in the sink, and helped each other. All the usual paperwork was well done, learning journals all up to date, feedback forms, what I like to do/am learning at home sheets in, wow moments and obs/assesments and next steps were there along with ALOT of photos(just home printed on standard paper!)-she commented on that and I simply told her that was my gift to the parents who feel it when they miss so much of their LO's growing up. My paperwork isn't marvellous, though more than adequate. She asked if I felt it had an impact on the childrens learning and progress and I said no. I know them all so well and told her exactly where each child was and what their next steps were, individually and as a group. She was very keen to see natural, open ended play resources, I have a few but not that much, I need to improve on that. I didn't seem to make to much difference though. When I'm sorted and have printed it for the parents, I'm happy to let anyone else see it if anyone wants to?

On my report it says this inspection cycle finishes in july 2016-I was missed in the last one! So you lovely ladies who are very overdue may be inspected soon...but possibly not. It depends on where you are on the list, I guess!!
