A friend has just been told that as soon as child is talking there is no need to do a daily dairy?

I do a daily diary until child is in full time school!
that way I don't forget to tell parents something and parents can easily chat to child about the day. I also use diary to list meals/sleeps/nappies etc.
how often do you ask a pre-schooler what they did that day and they say 'nothing' or just say the very last thing they did!
but its whatever works for each individual minder and mindee!

Parent - what have you done today?
Child - nothing
Parent - what have you eaten today?
Child - chips
Parent - did you have a sleep?
Child - shrugs and walks away
I prefer to let parents know what their child has done myself

It may only be a requirement until their talking, that doesn't mean continuing to do a diary until they are at school is bad practice!
