Hi, does anyone know if I need to tell my breakdown cover organisation that I use the car for business use now? I suspect, yes, so the next question will be can put any extra cost through as an expense or it's it included in the 45p mile thing? Cheers folks!

No you are covering the car - not your business

Oh. Shame! I only have it because I hate the idea of being stranded with kids, whether mine or minded!

You can claim either 45p a mile OR percentages of car costs - one or t'other, not both or a combination :D

Thanks Sarah, as I suspected, fingers crossed they don't charge too much extra when I "fess up", I don't use the car that often but it would be just my luck that it breaks down with mindee's on board!

update!
I spoke to the lovely RAC man in the street today who said nothing to worry about, if I was a taxi or driving a van with my logo all over it it would be different, but as it's basically personal use I'm covered! So yay!
