I'm a re-reg awaiting my first graded inspection for this registration (although I had one back in 2010 previously), if that makes sense...
Registered this time in early Feb, so 6 months is early August. Really hoping they leave me alone until September as I'd love the summer to make the LJs look extra fantastic, reorganise my living room and do a few bits of DIY etc.
I've been paying careful attention to calls - I never pick up 'blocked' or 'unknown' anyway as it's usually sales. So no idea if they have tried to call me.
What do you think to my chances?
The law of *** says they will try and fit me in before the end of term :-(

0151 is the number I got a call from yesterday, however isn't actively avoiding them a bad road to go down? I registered late Jan so mine is coming but id rather get it out the way.

I don't answer blocked or unknown calls anyway as we have loads for PPI, marketing, sales, surveys, previous people etc. Such a waste of time. I don't pick up the phone when I'm working anyway - all my friends and family know that. They text me first and I phone back at a good time. I have a message asking new clients to text or email first.
I'm term time only and two parents are teachers at private schools - so literally days to go now before the end of term. I know that I'll do better in September than a 'rush job' now.

0115*** sorry!
That's Nottingham - I'm down South - would that be Prospects then, or an Ofsted office?

Is that the company who do the inspections? Prospects? If so I'm more nervous now that they will just turn up!

Ask Ofsted - end of term is busy at the mo, you need to know what with Sports Days etc going on...

I'm same as you Sammy - I don't answer any calls from numbers I don't recognise, look funny eg: something like 100000001 (from abroad maybe) or that are witheld - I have an answer machine if anyone wants to leave a message I can ring them back. I do answer mobile numbers as could be local parents looking for childcare - so lets hope Mrs O doesn't try ringing me from her mobile!

Just rang Ofsted, it was prospects that called me. She said I will still get a call from an inspector before she arrives, and she should give me a week that she will come. She also said the inspector has to give me a cut off time? If she's not here before say 11am then she won't be coming. I've never hear that before and I am not optimistic that I will get a call I reckon she's just going to turn up! Hope its same woman as pre reg she was so good!!

They just turn up for Nurseries but always ring childminders (unless investigating a complaint) as they need to make sure you have children on that day and especially in this weather you may go on school run and then stay out for rest of day - my inspector travelled 40 miles to do my inspection last time - they aren't going to do that for nothing. They ring you and ask what days you are working and then generally tell you that they will come eg: Friday, Monday or Tuesday - mine told me that if she hadn't arrived by 10 am then I could assume she wasn't coming and I could go out. She came on the Monday.

I had a call from prospects saying my inspection (first graded) was going to be within 2 weeks - asking what days I have children, usually only have after school and after pre-school children giving me 2 weeks notice to the start of the period. The inspector rang the Friday before the 2 week period and said would either be the Tuesday or Thursday after school - luckily I knew I had a little one on the Tuesday morning (first time had anyone in the day - apart from before or after pre-school) She said if wasn't here by 10.30 - could go out - She was waiting here at 9am when I got back from the school run. The Inspector seemed pleased that I had a little one in the day rather than having to do after school.

Sorry sent before I'd finished. They called to ask what days I have which children. They said I'd hear from them but I never got a specific week or anything yet.

Well I also had a call today (which I answered) to ask when I would be working over the next two weeks...
I had great pleasure in responding (truthfully) that I have just finished for the summer hols.
So I was told it would now be the first or second week in Sept.
Hurrah! Phew! So relieved and happy.
