Hi, I have been childminding for 6 months now and I know any day I'm going to get a call from ofsted, I'm really worried my paperwork is not up to date enough and, the little girl I look after is 14 months, I have one a few observations on her and do messy activities with her but most of the time we are either at the park or at a group or rhyme time. I have no planning as I thought she was too young to plan structured things and now I'm worried ofsted will mark me down, can anybody tell me what ofsted will need to see so I try and get things ready. I have started her learning journal but there is not much in it. Please help me as I'm freaking out
Right.....breathe!
In terms of planning, Ofsted would like to see evidence of individual planning. Why did you plan that for that child, was it following an interest, a need? Have a look at Sarah's play plan, it has child's interest, adult initiated planning and links to EYFS. Ofsted will be less interested in your monthly, long term etc plans.

And a link to doing learning journals. Recently my colleague got outstanding without doing written observations, only 6 weekly summative assessments, because she was able to talk confidently about the child. My learning journals consist of the all about me form (for the child) observations used as evidence, summative assessments, and normal photos for the parents mainly.
