Well I had cleanied the house, read and re-read every bit of paperwork I have, the 14 standards, all the child protection stuff and even picked up on the fact that social services now sound like a group of assassins or some very naughty masseurs as they are now apparantly called "Specialist Services" and at 8:15 yesterday morning an hour before the inspector was due she rang to say that she was not feeling well. How gutted was I:(

We have rescheduled for thursday, she is going to ring on Tues night to check I have a mindee as my thursday mindee has been off sick for the last 2 weeks. Have teed up one of my other mindee's mum that I may need to borrow her child if the normal thursday child is sick. All this after she already rescheduled once when originally booking it with me.

On the bright side I have got most of my Quality Assurance paperwork together in the last week and a half so the QA lady is coming to my house on Tues at 7:45 to see a child arrive.

And my DS said when I rang him and told him that she had cancelled "Your joking, so I am going to have to put up with this for the next week then"

That must be so frustrating! I can't imagine how I would feel - I was up to 1am the night before getting everything ready - scrubbing floors etc! Had abut 2 hours sleep then woke up and tossed and turned til 6am! To have it cancelled would have killed me - so I feel for you!

Hope it goes well next week!

Maybe that's why it is good that we don't know when it will happen. You can't get your hopes built up on one particular day! Mind you, you should have seen how fast I moved to tidy up yesterday when the postman rang the doorbell:laughing:

Hope it goes ahead properly for you next week. Good luck xx

"specialist services"? I was told their new name is "children's service" - I was told that on my child protection course the other month, and we were told to remember it as ofsted will want you to call them that, so not sure what they are called now.

Anyway, bless ya, You must have been very disappointed after getting everything ready.

Good luck next week!!

oh goodness I would be all :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic:

I know things crop up and sometimes they have to change appointments but surely they could shift other less important things and carry on with planned inspections!!

I hate it when people let you down and you have gone to all that trouble as well.
