Hi just wondering if anyone can help. I current look after a 2.5 year old for on average 4 hours a week. She does attend a preschool for 12 hours a week too. Am i expected to do a learning journey for her if she has one at pre school??

you do need to do something!
maybe talk to preschool about sharing theirs and then collate sheets at home that you keep copies of, and send to preschool?
i would just keep a simple scrapbook with photos & artwork in, and records of conversations with parents and preschool. maybe the occaisonal observation and write down what areas you are looking at/working on.
one of my mindees does same hours at preschool and she does with me. preschool are looking at 'numbers & letters' ( their idea! ) i'm working on building self confidence and independance!

Yes you should do something otherwise you will be pretty poorly armed to show evidence to Ofsted about your knowledge of the child and their abilities.
Doesn't have to be too complicated.

yes all children who come under the eyfs should be observed net steps and plans made for, obviously the amount of time you care for her will mean you produce a more slimmed down version to reflect this. remember everything you do is a learning opportunity so you can observe during school pick ups, meal times etc.

Yes you do
I'd make your own as a different setting from nursery :)

I have one who does 12 hours at nursery and 3 at mine. I don't do a learning journal. I do get a copy of his next steps and liaise closely with the pre school as to what he enjoys here / there etc and I have input into his journal there.
