I am so fed up with inspectors who are unfair in their judgment. I live in Hertfordshire and would like to hear from anyone who has had an inspection since September 2012 that is simply UNFAIR AND UNJUST! Why should we sit back and take it? Its time we got together and approched this together, strength in numbers! Its such a closed shop when it comes to complaining. I am seriously thinking of going to the lawyers. Am I over reacting? Why should they be aloud to print something that is not true? No other company would get away with it!

We can rightly complain against anything that is factually incorrect, you are right the more people that do the better. Was this a first inspection?

If they have put something incorrect then there is a complaints procedure.
If you need help with it ask. We are here to support each other x

No , I knew what to expect and I was very ready! She contradicted herself so much, lots in the report was incorrect, getting what was said, what the child did and so on, wrong. The problem being, after I had a chat with the inspectors manager, she told me, she could only go on the evidence the inspector had collected, but the evidence is totally wrong. The entire Ofsted inspections are a farr's! I willl not leave this, my report is not a bad one but just incorrect!

I was very angry after my last one because I felt I couldn't answer her rapid fire questions on how I do this & that while I was supervising children playing on the slide in the garden - I wouldn't attempt to take 3 children to a job interview! I think they should come one day and just observe and ask a few questions relevant to what you are doing with the children and come back another day when you have arranged an emergency childminder to occupy the children for the paperwork and questions about the way you do things and why.
I have read that some people have had afternoon inspections, I think I am going to request one when I get the "call" then I can go through paperwork with Mrs O while some children sleeping, she can see me play with them when they wake up and depending on which day she came she would be there to see some children being collected and see how I communicate and info share with parents.
I also think, wherever possible you should have the same inspector so they can see how much you have improved since last inspection - I have improved so much since I re-registered in 2005 but they keep changing the criteria and the hoops keep getting higher and smaller!

I completely agree with this. When I was inspected as a teacher I was observed and didnt have to answer questions until after the observation. In some ways I felt a lot more pressure as a childminder as I was trying to feed a baby and had 2 toddlers at the table while trying to answer in depth questions.

I too agree with you, my last was the worse inspection experience I have ever had to endure, had a 10mth having awful teething probs whilst also going through the 'anti stranger' stage, she spent the whole time clinging to me and sobbing non-stop.Despite all this the inspector kept up her relentless stream of fast flowing questions--- why are we put through this, no other profession would stand for this kind of nervre wrecking treament while still having to carry on preforming their normal working duties. Like the idea of a pm visit! x

Thanks Belly2009. No not that one, did you have the same problem? I did try and send you a pm but your inbox is full!
I have had one lady twice who was lovely. She sat on the floor and joined in with the children, gaining their confidence, and even let them play on her laptop. Another lady sat at the table, plugged in the laptop and stayed rooted to the chair for almost the whole time. Its crazy how much they can vary. I am always shattered after an inspection, it feels so pressured even with the nicer lady.
