Hi my pre reg is wed morning, due to not having masses of space in my house my highchairs, pushchairs loads of toys ect are stored in my garage, will ofsted expect to see all my equipment? I dont really like the idea of bringing everything into the house and the house being cluttered when they come to register me, but I also dont want them thinking iv got only the things in my house...... what did everybody else do? Thanks

They are coming to check you are a suitable person, that your house is safe or will be made safe before you start, and that you know and understand what is required of you.
I wouldn't get it out. If she asks about equipment explain what you have to us and if needed she can always take a peek in your garage.
Good luck with it all. Pre-reg really isn't a scary as you think. My inspector gave me some great advice and tips.

Each inspector is different - however mine did not wish to see anything equipment or toys. Although as I have young children of my own my high chair is already in the kitchen and there are toys about as you'd expect.
I had 'set up' a few things such as a sensory basket, a table with wooden puzzles and a basket of themed books - so she could at least see something without needing to ask.
I had my pre reg a couple of weeks ago - good luck with yours and let us know how you get on.

Thank you, iv already got a house full of toy and games as I have two and three yr old boys I have the wooden grow with you high chairs at my dining table so hopefully that will be enough, how much were you expected to no about the eyfs ect? Iv been reading through it but worry I dont no enough, as usual im probably making a mountain out of a mole hill I guess most of it will come with experience, luckily I have a level 3 diploma in childcare and education but never got a chance to work in a childcare setting before I had my children however I did a yrs placement two days a week in a nursery and a 12 week placement with a childminder but this gave me no insite into childminding as I was shuved in a living room with two kids or hours on end with the tv on and no toys but that's a hole different story, im just going to be myself and stay positive and try to stop worrying :-) I will put a big responce and detail on her once shes been xx

I would advise that you are upto date on your safeguarding and for eyfs have example activities in mind for each of the 7 areas and their sub categories.
