I finally had my Ofsted inspection today after she told me she was coming 3 months ago! I dont know the outcome yet as shes going to ring me with it v soon. All I can say is its the 3rd bad inspection Ive had (bad as in I was not happy with her pushing the eyfs down my throat the whole time she was here! I will NEVER have another Ofsted inspection and I WILL be giving up childminding next time its due! It doesnt matter anymore if you love the children and they love coming to you, parents are really happy with you etc etc etc. Its all push, push, push with training, next steps, child development etc!!!! NEVER AGAIN IM AFRAID!!!!

What a shame, I can't understand how some inspectors can expect to get the best out of an experienced childminder by basically bullying them on the day - if we treated the children like that when the inspectors were there we would get inadequate - how can anyone reach their full potential and show their skills if they are constantly criticised.

When I had my last inspection I said the same that I would never go through another inspection, that as soon as they rang up I would tell them not to bother as I would be giving a months notice to all parents - 3 years, 11 1/2 months later I am still minding but not answering my phone to numbers I don't recognise or that are with held, in case they call, as i know I won't be giving notice to my lovely families.

Hope in spite of your stressful inspection that the report and the grade is what you are hoping for. :)

Its a shame you have had bad experiences. I have to say that all my inspections have been really relaxed and constructive experiences. Shows its often down to personalities.

poor you hope you feel different tomorrow, I have just been out with a parent of a family that i have been a childminder for for fifteen years, and tonight she said she is not interested in the the eyfs etc, she is more concerned in the happiness and care of the children whilst in my care and that I am now like a family member and she knows that the children are looked after and cared for like my own. I said you need to let ofstead know this and she said I will write to them telling them this:o. Keep your chin up and dont let them get to you

I was SO stressed before she came to me and thought the stress would go once she went but it hasnt really. Its just made me feel frustrated when I think about some of the stupid things she said, like: "Why dont you just leave your stairgate open so the children can come and go as they please!" and she told me that I shouldnt have had duplo out and it should have been lego instead! The child is 3 and 1 month! Other things she said were just as bad. I feel they are so out of touch with what really matters anymore that Im disheartened and actually disgruntled. I wont put myself through that again as Im STILL so angry 3 days later! What makes them think that they are right and we are wrong! Grrrrrr.

Oh and when she first phoned to say she was coming she said to me "I hope your first aid course hasn't lapsed?" I told her, no it hasn't and ive always been within the 3 years. Its ok for the inspection to have lapsed though isn't it because she was 'busy'. One rule for them, one rule for us!

I had mine a month ago and was told I had good at the end. I would phone ofsted up and say you was not happy and tell them the silly questions she asked. Also are you supposed to get your grading s after the inspection.

Poor you! I would be asking some questions too. Sounds like a horible morning and it's clearly "got" to you. I thought they had to give their feedback straight away too?
