Has anyone had a letter from ofsted when they have failed to contact you with regards to an inspection visit?

I have just received a letter through the post today saying that they have tried to make contact several time but have been unable to. If I don't get back to them they will cancel my registration!!!!

I may be totally and utterly off the mark but they obviously havnt tried that hard. They have my mobile and land line and not one if them has reviewed a call or left a message that u am aware if and I'm here most days.

Has this happened to anyone and if so what was the result?

Yes I received a letter similar to yours threatening to cancel my registration. I called Ofsted and they told me to call Tribal regarding my inspection. When checking details, Tribal had been calling a wrong number  I also don't think they will leave a message on either mobile or landline so if you miss them calling 3 times you will receive the letter. Just call Ofsted to check your details are correct.

I've just done that. They had the wrong mobile number!!!!! The lady asked all the days I was minding and what times and then said she will pass it on to the inspection team.

Now I'm panicking they are just going to turn up one day in the next whoever knows when!!!!!

Arrrrgh!!!! I actually feel sick.

Gulp!

Need to sit down with a cup of tea and chill out then realise that no matter what I think I should try and do - don't!! Just go on as I normally would.

They should tell you the week they are coming but not the exact day. I was told if she hadn't arrived by 930am to presume she wasn't coming on that day. Reading other posts tho they are coming at different times of the day. Not sure why they aren't able to give the exact day as I'm sure this would cut down our stress levels!! Keep us posted x

guess if they do this enough times they will reduce the cost of carrying out inspections
