Hi!
Does anyone know where it states you can have an extra child in preperation for another leaving. e.g if you know you have a child off to school in Sept, can you overlap if a new child is in your care from june/July? Have heard that you can, but not sure if it is a rumour or if it is in the guidelines. (I can't seem to see it).
Thanks in advance xx

That's not correct, you can only vary your numbers for siblings or continuity of care,. Continuing your business isn't a reason for increasing numbers

No sorry I think that would be classed as new business and not allowed - the only thing you could do is if you have a space on another day, is to start the new child off on settling in sessions and find out from all other parents when they intend to take their holidays, if it is summer holidays you may have odd days free and could muddle through for a few weeks. I keep getting enquiries for June/July but don't any spaces until Sept.

I wish they'd make the requirements clearer so these sorts of misunderstandings didn't happen :(
If you do it and you are found out you will be in trouble with ofsted :(

Exactly, that's why I was checking on here. So much hear say that I think some will assume we can have more. I didn't think we could but some cm's I've spoken to are quite convincing! I'm not in the situation where I need to do this, but wanted to check it out. Thanks x
