A while ago we were advising people to ring Ofsted if they were worried about parents, neighbours, friends etc making false accusations against them.
The advice came straight from Ofsted and we were told that the calls would be logged.
But when people ring them nowadays they get a 'we don't care we will have to investigate anyway' response so it appears they have changed their policy and don't want to hear it any more.
The rules around investigating complaints have changed - I imagine that has got something to do with it.
Now they either ask you to investigate a complaint internally or they turn up on the doorstep for safeguarding complaints and do a full inspection.
The best advice now is to make sure everything is recorded, all responses to parents are in writing and filed away, complaints are fully investigated following EYFS rules etc.
I hope that helps those in this difficult situation. There is always advice and help on the forum and if you don't want to post something you can always ask a moderator to do it for you - confidentiality is assured.
