A parent has been 'funny' with me recently (see other thread). If she has made a complaint against me are they likely to turn up at the door when I'm least expecting it lol?! Or would they give notice? I have no idea whether she has made a complaint or not or what she could possibly say against me as it is all unfounded. Obviously I have nothing to hide but hate the thought of worrying and waiting for them to now turn up. I am overdue an inspection so I think if she does phone them, they will respond quickly.

I believe if a complaint is made against you then they do just turn up unannounced if they feel a child is a 'risk'

Really depends what she complains about, safeguarding usually means an unexpected visit and full inspection but other less serios complaints they will ring or even send you a letter and tell you to deal with the complaint directly.
You can always ring ofsted and warn them parent is likely to report due to a dispute, you don't say but is it over money?

I had a complaint against me and ofsted turned up unannounced 4weeks ago and I had a full inspection there was no action taken and the inspector said she couldn't find anything that would concern her I'm still waiting for my report to come back though

I was told by my safeguarding officer (turned up unannounced) that it's always un announced for safeguarding issues.
We have has 3 un announced and two announced visits and honestly they are really nice and not judgmental at all.

Thank you. The parent in question has got back to me now and she just had minor issues which were nothing for me to worry about thankfully. I have hopefully reassured her. The main thing was because I sent her son home ill and I suspect she didnt like it! So I'm confident she hasnt involved Ofsted which is a relief. :)
