My 2.5 year old mindee had his 2 year check today. I racked my brains trying to find a quick, easy way to do a progress check.
Over the past few months,I've "charted" his progress using the Development Matters book-i made my own version of it,then,as he reached each milestone,I highlighted it and wrote a very brief note next to it showing what he'd done to back it up.
I gave a copy of this to his Mum to pass on-and when she came back, she said that the HV was so impressed, she asked if she could keep it-she hardly even bothered to look at what the Mum had put on her form!
So pleased-I've read lots of posts about HV's not even looking at the progress checks that CM's had,so I was a bit worried that my work would be for nothing!
Off to polish my halo.......:)

Heard so many negative comments about Health Visitors and the 2 Year Progress Checks, it is lovely to hear something positive and realise there are some Health Visitors that appreciate and take them seriously.
