When I was registered , Ofsted registered my small room (sons) as the cot and travel cot were in there.

This weekend we have moved our eldest daughter into this room however, there is still enough room for the travel cot and so I will continue to use that room for naps.

Do I need to inform Ofsted or just do a new risk assessment to reflect the change.

I have an inspection coming up and one of the days I have two babies on the same day (sister going into hospital) but the big cot is now in the other room, do I tell Ofsted or simply move another travel cot to the dining room for one of the babies to sleep in there (this room is also registered)

I'm so upsy daisy at the moment please help.

The EYFS states that you need to tell Ofsted about any significant changes to your provision - I think changing rooms is pretty significant - but others might disagree it's not clear cut.

I work on the 'tell them and then they know' theory where Ofsted are concerned.

And yes - risk assess.

Hth :D

Thank you.

The only difference is, is that a single bed is in there instead of the cot all the other furniture is the same.

Ill will let them know in any event as its only a phone call / email.

I would ring and ask too, but just thought I'd let you know that when I had my pre-reg inspection last month I thought they still wanted to designate which rooms you would use, but Mrs O said they just register the whole property now. (Unless you've got a woodwork shop filled with tools in your back bedroom or something - then they would note it as 'not to be used'.)

Thank you, no woodwork rooms as yet lol, I was registered in August and my inspector did all downstairs, the upstairs bathroom and small bedroom.

It's crazy but better call just to cover my back.

I would say no need to tell Ofsted as long as the rooms you are planning to use were all agreed by Ofsted. You are not talking about a change in use of the room, it was a bedroom before & still is
