Does anyone know if you have to complete a safeguarding course before ofsted come or can you do it afterwards?
You can do it afterwards. I have just had my inspection and I only needed my first aid and childminding introduction certificates.

There will be some safeguarding as part of your childminding course... then try to get on safeguarding training when you can.
Good luck with it all! :D

In staffs as from sep 2012 safeguarding is now part of your pre reg and has to be done before Ofsted register you along with first aid and crb x

In East Sussex you have to do a basic Safeguarding e-course (which, frankly is no better than the content in CYPOP5) BEFORE pre-reg. Then you have to book on Child Protection levels 1&2 as soon as you are registered, ditto an intro to EYFS.
