This factsheet has been completely re-written to reflect the EYFS 2012 requirements on medication administration.
It also covers the requirements of the Childcare Register 2012 which are slightly different. Most childminders are on both registers.
It is document 080290 and can be found here - Ofsted | Factsheet: childcare - Giving medication to children in registered childcare (http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/resources/factsheet-childcare-giving-medication-children-registered-childcare)
The factsheet clearly sets out the requirements relating to medication including policies and procedures, parental permissions, administration of medicines, written records and training.
It is essential reading if you want to know more about what Ofsted will be looking for during your inspection.
