I had the call today too! My inspection is next thurs or Friday! I'm trying not to stress too much over it, but I am spending the weekend going over my paperwork and double checking everything!
I'll be glad when it's all over...

Me too! Either Tuesday or Wednesday. They're obviously on the ball with the July registrations, my 5 months was reached on Boxing Day!

Me too. Monday :censored:
I am in two (three?) minds about it. Part of me is a little bit excited to show the inspector what I've done since she was here for my pre-reg (the same masochistic part of me that loves sitting exams :o). Another part is pleased at the thought of getting it over and done with, as it's hung over me for the last five months. The final bit is bloomin petrified and panicking like mad .
I am so, so desperate to get a good - I want to be able to join the network offer the LA funding for twos and over etc and retain the older kids when they hit three. Have lost one to a funded nursery already, with another to come shortly.

I've been working on mine for days. I've got it down on paper, but it still needs a lot of work. I feel like I'm all SEF'd out!:)

Hi I had my first inspection on the 2nd Jan and have lived to tell the tale!
In terms of paperwork you need to make sure u have read the are you ready for your inspection fact sheet, any other recent ofsted fact sheets and make sure you have everything in order to comply with being on child care registers. Also have a look at Sarah's check list of new requirements since September last year.
I did do my sef it took me ages too but inspector did read it and it did save time on the day. She looked at a random selection of my policies, observations, risk assessments and looked at my parental feedback parental questionnaires information I give to prospective parents and my training certificates. She also checked my insurance cert añd ofsted cert. I had everything out for her to look at. She also did two joint observations with me where I had to talk through next steps and how the activity related to child's development matters.
The best of luck

Good luck ladies, I had mine in September and my inspector was being assessed , so I did panic to start with, but in the end they watched how I worked with the child, and asked questions while I was working, then they spent time looking through my portfolio, SEF and a learning journal, then asked me a few more questions ie where do I get my resources and ideas from, asked about my treasure basket, healthy eating. It lasted 5 hrs, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, try and relax and be yourself:)

5 hours?!!! That seems exceptionally long!!! Mine may split as I have a lunch time nursery pickup, just wishing the weekend was here do it would be over!
