My cominder has received a phone call from Ofsted. She left a message on our answer machine so hasnt got back to her yet. My co minder is not really working this week as she is doing christmas shopping etc and is only doing school pickups for me at 3pm. She is then not working until 7th January. Will Ofsted still insist on coming before christmas or when she is working again? :S

If they are coming to see a specific person they will normally wait and accommodate them where possible - unless you are right at the end of the allowed timescale.
Hopefully you will know more when they ring back. Good luck! :D

Thanks Sarah.
Mrs O has only tried to call her today so hopefully not the end of allowed time. Cominder has been out all day so not had chance to call her back. First thing to do on her list tomorrow

Mrs O called me today too! I missed the call so she left a message. She hopes to come the week of Jan 7. At least that's plenty of notice! I'm just googling her name to find out what she is focussing on!!

I had a call a few days ago from Ofsted saying they are coming to inspect me. I only have 1 child 1 day a week atm and just wondered if they will expect as much paperwork as a full time minder. Also EXACTLY what paperwork are they after?

Hello all!
Quick update and for the benefit of you with upcoming inspections...
I had a very successful inspection last week. The inspector was really lovely. She told me the emphasis is definitely more on the learning and development side of things under the new eyfs. I had all paperwork ready and made a big point of showing my starting points, obs, next steps and planning.
She wasn't too bothered about policies and procedures although did briefly look through, asking me about safeguarding matters mostly.
She observed me with my one child and had a quick look at my toys/books.
This took no longer than about three hours.
Good luck everyone! Xx
