Im not exactly sure about the permission but i would assume it could be a copyright issue. Try googling it and see what comes up. hth xxx

It probably is copywrited. Just depends on whether or not the owners find out and insist you change etc. they could also threaten you with legal action

I dont know you need someone with legal knowledge and thats not me. I know that disney will and can go after people who use their brands. I know they threatened a cake maker for using their images on a cake.

I would have thought it would be copywrited too and I would think it unlikely they would allow anyone to use it!! I don't think I would risk it incase they sued me :panic:

Could you not use a play on the actual character, a bit like fussy Elmo, we know what is being referred to but there is no copyright issue if you see what I mean.

Thanks for you reply's. I think I'm going to try and email them to ask permission. There's a childminder near me that uses a name of sweets as her business name, I might ask her to see what she did!
The name I was going to use is characters from In The Night Garden, but thinking if its going to get me in to trubbel, ill have to think of something 'original' x

My grandfather looking in to it, and he found out thy aslong as another childminder isn't called the same thing I can use the name, as it's just a 'name' so I'm going to check (google lol) to see if there is any1 else called it xx

Thanks for that. It's very helpful. I just had a quick look, and went on the websites it's given to check if I can use the name, also it checks if its taken, and it said that's there isn't anyone out their using it. Ill have a propler look on the laptop when the children are in bed tho. Thanks again xx

When I started up in 2004 my local Council said that if you used a certain name for your Childminding business you'd have to pay business rates instead of council tax. Hence my name's ********** (my full name) 's Childminding Services. Awwww! I'd love a name.....!
