Im currently working my way very slowly through unit 2 of DHC, my tutor said last week that to get good marks you have to link it all the way through to theorists, but we havent done any work on theorists just been given a handout that was a load of rubbish.

Does anyone know any theorists, especially ones who connect to childrens rights, flexible routines supporting childrens well being and development, healthy eating, freedom of choices, communicating with children.

Any names that I can research would be helpful, really stuck.

Oh S**T I hate the Thoerists and all that linking tish - I never taught that I always avoided it like the plague - If I were you I'd go to a search engine and Type in Thoerists and child development and the topic you want then you should get something but don't just cut and paste it make sure its all your own words - if you find that hard use a Thesaurus and change the wording that way - all an examiner has to do is when they see a change in the language you are using in your assignment is to type in one single sentence on a search engine and it will pop up and then they can fail you not just the assignment but your whole course and you could get sued - depending on how far an examiner is prepared to go. - I was a kind tutor I used to just underline the copied section and write the name of the site in the margin and send it back for re-submission - I often had a gread deal of sites to quote from. - most tutors marking students work will be this kind unless a student is a persistant offender but an outside examiner won't be so kind - just be warned. If you use wording from a book or website ensure it is properly quoted and referenced - I presume one of your tutors has given you a lesson on this or a handout at the very least.

Maria Montessori - obvious really!

John Bowlby - from the 50s/60s but some interesting theories on attachment and bonding

Jean Piaget - play and cognitive thinking

Vygostsky - similar to Piaget
