i am expecting my first ful inspection any time and am staring to worry!
do i have all policies and procedure i need or should i add any??

i have ...

fire evacuation plan
emergency plan
risk assesments galore!

working in partnership with parents
care learning and play policy
saftey
pets
lost children
health
food handling
illness
first aid
diet
equal ops
special needs
behaviour
safeguarding childrne
confidentially
settling in
complaints


god that looks like tons in a list ! anything i have missed would be greatly appreciated
thanks guys

also do they look at financial records??? or just registers

Attendance registers, accident/incedents reports, medical administration & your contracts are there check points.

Financial details are noting to do with them so shouldn't ask to see them.

You look like you've got all the p&p's - do you do fire drills?

hanvt done yet as i only mind a baby and my son of 18 m so i would grab and run!!

I would write one up - they are very keen on them.

Just keep a record of mindees that have compleated a fire drill & on what date & time.

Then I also keep a record of what happened - ie where we were when it went off, which exit route & if anything was in the way etc

Keep it really simple & it will be no bother

I agree with katickles about the fire drill - Ofsted will be keen to know how you would get out if there was a fire.

The Bromley site has all the policies listed against the national standards so you could have a look on there.
