The requirement for gaining consent for emergency medical advice or treatment for a child is no longer in the Eyfs 2012!

The lack of it as a permission form was a trigger for unsatisfactory grades under the previous Eyfs (2008) but as it is no longer a requirement they shouldn't pick you up on it.

However, I would suggest you put something in your emergency procedures and make sure you ask children's parents for emergency contacts even so.

Good luck! xx

I had my DO visit me a few weeks ago and we talked about the emergency medical treatment permission. We talked about it not being stated in the current EYFS, but also advised me to still keep it on my permission forms. If you use the NCMA child record forms it is on there anyway. She just advised that in her opinion it is better to have this permission in place, just in case...

I got graded a satisfactory, for the same reason as you. In my NCMA accident folder the emergency medical bit was not signed... My inspection was in Dec last year. I only found out, that actually I DID have it signed on the Child Record Forms!

My DO said he would have been livid as looking at my paperwork I could have got a good...
