and I got a Good overall. Thank you so much to everyone on the site as reading posts and asking questions I have gotten so much infromation and support since i registered.

She said she wanted to give me outstanding but could not becasue i could not show transition, she said that it is going to be very hard now for anyone on a first inpection to get an outstanding becasue of how they now have to grade. She did say that the way they have to do the reports is a lot stricter, and explained the boundaries, the way she explained it was that if i miss one point, in any area then i cannot get the next grade up.

they focus was less on my files, although she was impressed as i had a file for everything and it was labelled so made it really easy for her. She focused more on observation, they seemed focused on making sure all the new EYFS changes have been update etc. so was looking for my mobile phone procedure etc.

Also make sure you have specific starting points for your little ones, not just general obs.

she also checked my attendance register to make sure it was up to date and asked me a few general general questions. the other thing she wanted was to see a summary on my child, which i have, but she wanted me to say if they were below, at or above where they should be, as she felt i should be clearer.

The sef was a bonus, meant she did not have to ask me too much she really liked it

it really was not as painful as I thought, she was here for just about 3 hours.

Thanks for sharing about your inspection - I am waiting my pre-reg inspection and although yours was obviously not a pre-reg it was good to read about how it was conducted and the things she looked at - all food for thought for me for the future. Well done too, enjoy your weekend now.

ive got mine soon and im abit worried. My Osted grade is GOOD but there are a few cms that have been knocked down a grade. One was because her outside play wasnt good enough and the inspector wanted to know what outside play she done in the rain. TBH mine have only started to walk 3 months ago so has anyone got any ideas for under 3 or over for outside play in the rain. The inspector told her she should play outside no matter what the weather was like.

Traci1969, our morning activity was outside and it had just rained, i popped on their puddle suits and they did play outside with the Autumn sensory tray i put together, i had my daughter and my 13 month old mindee. i also had just done an obs of my 13 month old puddle jumping on the school run, try and build evidence of things like this so you can show what you get up to

Well done sharonmac, great result.
Tracey, in my lj's are pictures of the children looking at snails, crawling through wet leaves, puddle jumping, snow men making, sat in the tuff spot routing through leaves, branches etc I picked up on the school run., waning cars. No reason why index threes can't get outside most days you just need to have the right gear for them.

"... the other thing she wanted was to see a summary on my child, which i have, but she wanted me to say if they were below, at or above where they should be, as she felt i should be clearer."

Congratulations - bet you're glad that's out the way.

Sounds like they are now looking for some kind of tracking system in addition to obs linked with areas of learning? :panic:

Seems a bit much - especially for under 2's?
