I've just has a parent meeting they were very keen and want to start asap - as in tomorrow!
Am I allowed to start without my Cert up on the wall?

:( no big no no you cannot start childminding until you have this on display if you do it so serious you will risk losing and it not worth it :(

I am in Wales and the CSSIW phoned me with my registration number and I could start then. My certificate took another 6 weeks! Best check with Ofsted tho as they may work differently to CSSIW x

You need to have public liability insurance and cant get that till you have your certificate.
My first family waited 4 weeks for my certificate to come through.

I don't know about new childminders but when applying for a variation (pre change) you could start with the new variation provided it had been updated on the Ofsted website - might be worth looking online to see if you are on there... Xx

I was going to say the same. If your details are on the Ofsted website you should be OK without the actual certificate - you can print the details off if you need to. I've done it before with variations and was told I was covered as soon as it was updated on their system.
I'd phone Ofsted and ask if you're on there yet.

It is a condition of your registration that your certificate is displayed.
It is stated in the EYFS - requirement 3.75.
Please do not take wrong advice and work illegally.

Theres nothing to stop you ringing Ofsted but it does take about a week going by mine arriving and what Ive seen on here. As for contracts, as long as youre sure your certificate is coming then that should be ok but I wouldnt take any money off parents just incase. x

Ring ofsted and ask.
If you're on the system then I don't see a problem.

I was told not to even advertise (not even stating 'in the process of registering') before registered.
