Hi, I am the Registered Manager of a Children's home and I'm looking into becoming a childminder. Does anyone know if I would still need to undergo the full registration process, as I have already had my fit person's interview with Ofsted, Ive got an enhanced CRB and most of the training (first aid etc) through my current job. All advice would be great thanks x

Yes
you would still need to complete your local authority approved introductory course. Even if you have an NVQ/degree you would still need to to the course
you wouldn't have to re-do your first aid so long as its less that 3 years old.
best bet is to check with your council, being suitable might speed things up a little... My DH is suitable as he is my assistant..
but he still had to do the intro course, along with safeguarding. we are currently awaiting a call from prospect to do his pre-registration

As Donkey says you will still need to do the pre-registration course - it is a statutory requirement.
Your LA will be able to advise you on the timing / availability of courses.
Good luck! :D

I was an OFSTED childminder in England and moved to Wales and had to do the whole registration process again, took 11 months! If I ever move back to England I will have to re-do everything again.
