HELP please.... probably another stupid question....
My baby has just started using ALL the radiators to stand with which got me thinking about in the colder months once there are mindees here how I would keep them safe?? Also the pipe tends to get a little hot to.
I do have a cover on the radiator in the kitchen but would not of thought this is needed on all??

I have stats on all my radiators and one of my morning jobs on my daily risk assessment is to check they haven't been moved to a higher number.

The children won't burn if they are on number 2 or 3 and I teach them not to touch :D

I am the same as Sarah

But of course if you are going to have your radiator on high then a cover is the only safe option

Am I correct in assuming that I don't need to buy a radiator cover for every radiator then?? - because that would cost a fortune!!!

I have radiator covers on most of my radiators, but that was purely for decorational purposes, not minding.

I don't however have one in my lounge - our sofa is directly in front of it but the children could touch the sides. In winter & the heatings on I only have it on no:2 because of this. I also check every morning that the dial hasn't been changed.

I am lucky that my boiler has thermostatic controls so I can turn the temp down of all rads.

does your boiler have this? I have also put grey insulating stuff round the pipes to stop little children grabbing them :)

Thanks for your replies much more clearer now on what I need to do, just didn't want the inspector to point out as a danger which I am aware of but done nothing about :)

Yes you are right! Simply show through your risk assessments that you are managing the risk. :D

I asked my inspector about this, although I am having covers made.

She said as long as they are not hot, to not worry about them. She recommended lagging pipes though as she had seen a nasty burn with a child getting leg caught behind a pipe.
