just woundering how you all do your observations for the new eyfs

do you think this is enough info

Name - M Age - 2 years, 6 months
Date - 16th August 2012

Having Fun At Preston Park

What happened
Today we went to Preston Park. M showed great confidence when climbing up the steps to go down the slide. I offered to help her as I thought the steps where a little high, M refused my help and looked very proud of herself once she had got to the top of the steps

EYFS links
Physical Development - Moving and Handling
Personal, Social and Emotional Development - Self confidence

Characteristics of effective learning
Engagement - Being willing to ‘have a go’

Next steps
Continue to support M as her self confidence builds and she is willing to participate in new experiences

Yes that's absolutely fine!

I do the occasional long observation where I witter on about a particular skill or area of learning... but not very often.

Most of my obs are short like that one, often with a photo attached.

Hth :D
