Hi Welshies!

I booked on to the Intro to Child Protection course in Llanelli when we had the course sheet sent out to us. But on thinking about it, is it likely to be the same sort of things that we covered in the ICP? And basically is it going to be worth doing? Just wondering whether it will cover much more when it is only a day course, and we spent a day covering it in ICP.

Also, I wanted to book onto as many courses as possible to show to inspector on my first inspection that I am willing and progressing myself and obviously because I am willing and do want to progress myself, not just to please inspector) - but what happens when none of the courses are appropriate really? Is it something that is frowned upon if we don'd do too many?

I am in your county and I did the child protection about a year after my ICP. It went into a lot more detail than we covered on ICP and my inspector was pleased I had done it. I will refresh it soon too and will have an updated certificate to show at my next inspection. I am not sure if it is a requirement or just good practice to update every three years like the first aid.

Thank you! Just didnt want to get there and them say "dont really understand why you are here". The ICP was so condensed, we only really touched on an awful lot of things. Feel that I would benefit from going back and covering it again.

Thanks xx
