Hi All, I joined this forum yesterday and have enjoyed reading all the comments and useful hints and tips.
I am due my first graded inspection any day now and really dont know what to expect. Will they just show up? Do I need everything ready to go if she/he shows up? havent been on the new course but have read the new eyfs framework, will this have an affect on my grade?
Basically, I need any hints and tips that you can give to get me through my first graded? As i say i have picked up some bits from the comments already but i always seem to feel there something im missing or forgeting. It's all abit overwhelming........... freaking out abit.com:panic:

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

Don't worry!!! You will get a phone call , they don't just turn up. just ensure you have all the important paperwork ready, P&Ps. permission forms, RA's etc, as well as all the other documentation required by Ofsted .

There is a leaflet called "Are you ready for your inspection" that can be downloaded ..... thats gives you a good idea of what to do.

Good luck

Don't forget to make a note when you make changes - it's always good to show self evaluation and how you are trying to improve :D

Mine's early next week. Stressed now, don't cope well with pressure & tend to get flustered & not respond well to questions even if I know the answers.:panic:

I had my first graded inspection last week. The inspector will ring beforehand and I knew it was going to be either the Weds or the Thurs. She wanted to look through all my paperwork, policies, learning diaries etc but also spent a lot of time watching me interacting with hte children and making notes. She was very hot on partnership with parents and asking for parental input. I was scored down a bit for not asking for parental input on the child's development matters stages when they started - I had only asked for likes and dislikes re toys and activities and sleep and food etc. She made sure I had amended my policies to reflect the changes in the new EYFS such as mobile phones, special needs bit on equal opportunities policy etc. Good luck with it - I'm sure you;ll be fine.
