Hi I am filling in my first interim payment form for the council.
Is there a set rate we can charge for funded hours for nursery education?
I seem to be able to set my own but I'm sure I can't go above a certain rate.
cheers

Is it true that the rate differs by the County?

In our area (Cambridgeshire) we can't set our own rate - it is set at £4.14 per hour. I do know that it differs where you live though!

Its different rates for different counties. Probably best to give your L.A. or support worker a call to find out. HTH :)

I have never heard of anyone being asked to set their own rate for nursery education funded places, there is a set amount in our region..... but I have been asked to set a rate and invoice county when I have taken placements from family services at the Children's Centre and then I have charged £4.00 per hour.

i charge my own rate when invoicing the county for placements through the inclusion team, social services or childrens centre.
but for children accessing their nursery or 2 yr old funding i have to accept whatever county pay!

Lucky you! I charge £4.50 p/h... My county pays £3.62 p/h for 3-4year olds and £4.96 p/h for disadvantaged 2year olds! Unfortunately I seem to have an abundance of 3-4year olds accessing but no 2year olds! Typical!
BUT when it comes to vacancies and the ridiculous amount of childminders in this town, i am actively promoting that I offer government funding and learning to abide by my new saying "bums on seats is better than no bums on seats" :) xx

definately ... i had a funded child for funded hours only ... now funded child does triple the number of hours at my usual rate! LO would not have come to me/mum would not have even thought about childcare without me offering the funding :D
