Hello all,

I just had my first Ofsted insptection on Tuesday and after 5 and a half hours of pure stress, the inspector awarded me Outstanding!

I am so so happy, I cried and cried and cried and still feel Im on the ceiling. I cannot believe it and all the hard work has been totally worth it.

But I dont think I would have got it without all the support from this forum. Ive got so much inspiration, ideas and knowledge from this site. And talking to people who understand how hard and stressful our job can be at times is invaluable. I cant say thank you enough especially to angel delight and Jen. A few childminders in my area think of other childminders as competition, but this site just proves that working together sharing ideas and being supportive to each other is beneficial for all our settings.

A word of warning...I too got Outstanding on my first inspection...the minders in my area sound like the minders in your area...they all got their noses very put out of place & made malicious complaints, so just be careful!

I have tried to work with them but I just dont think they like new ideas or change. Its a same because I would really like to get on.

I just get ignored in the playground and its awful but maybe if we worked together we would all achieve better outcomes. I like to get fresh eyes on things and would much rather someone tell me where I am going wrong.

i too got outstanding on my first inspection, i am the only childminder in my area as i live in a small village so not much comp.
my inspection was just under 4 hours and that was plenty long enough :laughing:

i just want to say well done again about your inspection katie.

i'm local to katie and we see each other on courses etc and she is a lovely person who has worked hard and deserves an outstanding.

she rang me in a mad panic but i told her to stay calm and i'm glad everything went well.

Sorry I missed this!! CONGRATULATIONS!

DOn't worry about the other childminders after all you wouldn't have gotten your grade if the inspector didn't think your setting was outstanding
