This is the Ofsted guidance for a no children on roll inspection -
http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/resources/process-and-guidance-for-inspecting-childminders-and-childcare-settings-no-children-roll-or-no-child
They are doing lots of these at the moment as they try to get round everyone before the EYFS changes in September.
you must have your insurance in place, the house and garden (if registered) must be suitable for minding, you must have first aid etc so you are ready to work... go back through the pre-registration booklet you will find lots of help and information in there.
I hope this helps! :D

So even if I'm not working and not planing to work yet due to health at the moment my garden stills needs to be as it would be if I was working and still need insurance as I haven't x

It is a condition of your registration to have insurance - a legal requirement.
If you are not working / planning to then why not deregister the garden for the time being? Your inspector will be able to do that for you - then it's no longer a worry. You can always apply to have it registered again when you are ready to go back to work.
Have you read the document? Do you have any other questions?

sorry to gatecrash your post Lau, but can I just ask - Sarah- is it possible to deregister yourself as a minder temporarily and not have to redo the whole registration process??
- it seems a shame that so many people that take a break - for whatever reason, maternity or family commitments or no work have to upkeep the full conditions of registration - CRB checks of anyone who may move in, insurance and first aid.

I was sort of thinking about this as an option when I suggested Lau de register her garden for a while.
The problem is that if you de register you do have to go through the registration process if you want to register in the future which can cause people a lot of stress - and of course the waiting times are increasing nowadays because of lack of funding...
However, de registering is always preferable to Ofsted cancelling your registration and you should always take this option if you are in this position.
If Ofsted stop you from working you are not normally allowed to apply again in the future.
