I only work term time and am thinking of having a clearout of my files and putting all my old paperwork in a box in the attic. 2 of the children have now left for big school and I have new starters in Sept so it seems like a perfect time, but im not sure what Ofsted will want to see when they inspect as I am due in October.
Do they need to see permission forms/planning sheets for children that are no longer attending?
Do they need to see old visitor records/risk assessments etc?

Ofsted are not interested in paperwork for children no longer attending so you can file it. Records need to be kept though for other purposes for up to 21yrs 6 months i think it is.
It might be handy to keep your RA's out to show how they have evolved

The paperwork needs to be kept until the child is 21yrs old, not for 21yrs.
This is because they can make a claim against us in their own right for 3 years after they are 21.
In my experience Ofsted are only interested in the paperwork of the children in your care on the day.
