 My 1st inspection is booked for 8/7/12 and I'm freaking out!!!!

I just signed my first contract and mindees start with me on 24/6/12 (attending 3 sundays a month), then I get the phone call this morning for my first inspection.

I have one in the EYFS and the other is 6. Mrs O will be coming on their 2nd day with me.

I have nothing prepared as I am just starting and am now really panicing :panic:

Can anyone help

Regards

I had Ofsted ring in September to visit me and I told them my first ever mindee was starting with me in September so they put it off for 6 months because it wasn't fair as you don't have any time to build up any evidence at all

I would ring up and ask them to defer the inspection for 6 months as you could get marked down for not providing evidence that you are meeting all the child's needs etc

Hmm... it's unlikely you will be able to defer it because they are trying to get round everyone before this inspection cycle finishes.

You will be able to show how you are settling the child, getting to know them, already noting what they can and cannot do, working closely with parents to find out home interests ...

Good luck! :D

NicoleW, I tried asking if it could be deferred but she said it had to be done before 16/7/12. Mrs O is the same lady that saw me for my pre reg inspection, she was really nice and she said she was looking forward to seeing me again. So hopefully won't be to daunting!!

Correct me if I'm wrong but she will be observing how I am with the younger one(4) rather then the older one(6), right?! So, I would really need evidence for younger mindee only or would she want to see what I have in place for the older one??

Thanks Sarah for the info and thanks for wishing me luck, me thinks I'm gonna need it

Also she told me about the SEF form, does that need to be completed before she comes so she can look at it?

I feel it's gonna be really complicated filling it in as they are with me on Sunday only!!

The SEF is about you, your setting and your practice so well worth having a look through and making a start on it.

Good luck with the inspection, hope it goes OK for you
